Acting Prime Minister Muhammad Muftah, along with the Secretary of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, inaugurated the work on a number of projects in the field of livestock and receiving and assembling agricultural products in the Municipality of the Capital, with a total amount of 861 million riyals, with local funding.

Acting Prime Minister Muhammad Muftah, along with the Secretary of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, inaugurated the work on a number of projects in the field of livestock and receiving and assembling agricultural products in the Municipality of the Capital, with a total amount of 861 million riyals, with local funding.
Where the scholar Muftah and Abbad, along with the head of the Social Affairs Committee in the two localities of the secretariat, the deputy head of the development team in the secretariat, Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, the heads of the planning committees, Sharaf Al-Hadi, and the services committee, Adel Al-Aqari, and the undersecretaries of financial affairs, Mazen Noman, and agricultural affairs, Muhammad Sarie, inaugurated three projects to rehabilitate and restore the slaughterhouse and its annexes in the central slaughterhouse in Dar Salam, and purchase, supply, and install equipment for the slaughterhouse, and rehabilitate and maintain the feed factory in the slaughterhouses and meat markets office in the secretariat, at a cost of 270. One million riyals.
The Acting Prime Minister and Mayor of the Capital launched work on a project to rehabilitate the treatment plant for wastewater and slaughter waste in the central slaughterhouse in Dar Salam at a cost of 141 million riyals.
The scholar Muftah and Abbad laid the foundation stone for the project to establish a reception and collection center for agricultural and fishery products at the central slaughterhouse, the first phase, at a cost of 450 million, funded by the secretariat through the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit.
They reviewed the level of equipment in the slaughtering hall and the feed factory in the central slaughterhouse in Al-Sabeen District, the stages of implementation, installation and operation of the hall and factory equipment, and the work mechanisms in the drying, mill, crusher, ovens and packaging departments of the feed production factory, as well as the status of the processing station and the location of the agricultural products reception center project.
They heard from the Executive Director of the Agricultural Finance Unit in the Secretariat, Abdullah Sharaf Al-Din, the Director of the Slaughterhouses Office, Ahmed Idris, and a number of engineers, an explanation about the components of the projects that were implemented and the level of achievement in them, and the launch of work on the approved projects, within the framework of strengthening and completing the value chain.
They reviewed the completed work, the plan and engineering designs for the project to establish a center for receiving and assembling agricultural products, with a total area of 17,400 square metres, which includes a packing, sorting and packaging factory for products, and the organization and distribution of other service facilities.
In a media statement following the opening and inauguration, the Acting Prime Minister praised the efforts of officials, stakeholders and engineers in restarting the central slaughterhouse, which had been idle for many years, causing tools and equipment to wear out.
He praised the efforts of the engineers in redesigning the complete manufacturing equipment and tools for fertilizers and fodder, and on the way to manufacturing leather, indicating that the slaughterhouse is an integrated project, starting from receiving the carcasses all the way to utilizing their waste in the manufacture of fertilizers and fodder, in addition to providing job opportunities.
The scholar Muftah pointed out the comprehensive cleanliness of the project and its impact on protecting society from pollution and providing health services. He explained that the agricultural market project, which will be implemented in the southern part of the slaughterhouse, with funding from the Agricultural Finance Unit in the capital secretariat, will work to receive and collect agricultural products of vegetables and fruits, and conduct sorting, sterilization, and packaging for them and prepare them for the consumer and for external export.
He expressed the hope that the slaughterhouse and agricultural market experience would be a pioneering experience, receiving continued attention from those in charge of it, to be a model for the rest of the governorate’s slaughterhouses.
The Acting Prime Minister thanked the engineers, technicians, officials and stakeholders who implemented the project, which will begin its first operational trial on Eid al-Adha, to contribute to relieving pressure on the slaughterhouses during the Eid period.
He noted the large capacity of the slaughterhouse in slaughtering and preparing carcasses, at a rate of sixty bulls per hour, which can be increased further, stressing the responsibility placed on the slaughterhouse in providing the healthy product guaranteed by the certificate of reliable companions.
In turn, the Mayor of the Capital explained that, under the supervision and attention of Acting Prime Minister Muhammad Muftah, development projects worth a total of 270 million riyals were opened, and new projects worth 591 million riyals were launched, including the rehabilitation of the treatment plant at the central slaughterhouse.
He pointed out the importance of the pioneering agricultural project to receive, assemble and prepare agricultural products for display and export, which contributes to serving farmers and reducing intermediaries who benefit from the price difference, which is for the benefit of the producer and consumer, and enhances the completeness of the value baskets of local products.
Abbad stressed that this work was carried out through concerted efforts under the supervision of the Acting Prime Minister, and coordination with officials of agricultural authorities, to complete this effort and institutional work.
