A training course for the Knights of Development in the field of development work was concluded today in the districts of Ma’in and Shu’ub in the capital’s secretariat, organized by the local councils of the two districts and the Bonyan Development Foundation within the volunteer support program.

A training course for the Knights of Development in the field of development work was concluded today in the districts of Ma’in and Shu’ub in the capital’s secretariat, organized by the local councils of the two districts and the Bonyan Development Foundation within the volunteer support program.
The course aimed, in 15 days, with the support of the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the secretariat in cooperation with the Office of Social Affairs and Labor and the Agricultural Cooperative Union in the secretariat, to provide 73 trainees with the basics of volunteer work, development resources, community initiatives and urban development.
At the conclusion, which was attended by Shura Council member Askar Al-Qalati and the head of the Social Affairs Committee in the capital’s municipality, Hamoud Al-Naqib, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Administration and Local and Rural Development, Al-Khalil Al-Quraishi, pointed out the importance of rehabilitation and training courses and programs in the process of activating community and development work.
He pointed to the role of the Knights of Development and community initiatives in advancing the service and development reality and building a true partnership between government agencies and local communities to enhance the requirements of comprehensive development and achieve self-sufficiency.
Al-Quraishi considered the course a nucleus for activating the role of cooperative societies, organizing community work, and building effective development leadership capable of crystallizing a future vision that starts from reality and responds to people’s needs, leading to a more aware and effective society in managing its resources and developing its environment.
He praised the efforts of the leadership of the local authority in the capital secretariat, the Bonyan Foundation, and the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, in supporting community and development initiatives and qualifying development knights in the directorates.
While the Director of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in the Secretariat, Nasser Al-Kahli, confirmed that qualifying local cadres within the Knights of Development program is an important step towards developing society, achieving the public interest, and achieving the stage of self-sufficiency, especially in light of the challenges of the stage that the country is going through.
He pointed out that community activities and initiatives crown success on the front of awareness and consolidating responsibility related to faith and national identity and contribute effectively to local development, calling for the concerted efforts of everyone to implement the directives of the leader of the revolution to achieve development.
In turn, the local secretary of the Shu'ub District, Muhammad al-Hadrami, stressed the importance of the course contributing to activating cooperative work and motivating the efforts and energies of the community to participate in implementing initiatives and projects.
He appreciated the keenness of the leadership of the Municipality of the Capital and the Finance Unit to build the capabilities of local cadres and involve the community in development and confronting challenges.
Speeches were delivered by the coordinator of the Bonyan Foundation in the secretariat, Abdul Hafeez Hisn, on behalf of the Bonyan Academy, Abdullah Fadayel, and on behalf of the graduates, Muhammad Al-Kabsi. They reviewed in their entirety the programs and activities included in the training course for the Knights of Development.
They stressed the importance of training and qualification programs for development knights that contribute to activating cooperative development work and encouraging society to implement self-initiatives.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Director of the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the secretariat, Eng. Abdul-Malik Al-Ansi, the Ma’in Directorate, Abdul-Malik Al-Radi, the Secretary-General of the Agricultural Cooperative Union in the secretariat, Abdul Nasser Al-Sarihi, and the Bonyan Foundation’s project coordinator in the Al-Thawra, Al-Wahda, and Shuub districts, Muhammad Awad.
