Acting Prime Minister Muhammad Muftah, accompanied by the First Undersecretary of the Capital Municipality, Khaled Al-Madani, inaugurated the Eid Joy Festival for productive families, which is organized by the Bani Al-Harith Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society under the slogan “Let them eat of its fruit and what their hands have made.”
The festival, which is being held in Al-Samad Park next to the Al-Sarkha Tour in the Daris region during the period from 18-22 of the month of Ramadan, includes household food products, clothes and handicrafts, with funding from the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Unit of the secretariat and the General Authority for Small and Micro Enterprise Development.
The scholar Muftah and Al-Madani, along with the Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee - Deputy Head of the Development Team in the Secretariat, Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, the Undersecretary of the Secretariat, Mazen Noman, and for Agricultural Affairs, Muhammad Saree, the Assistant Undersecretary, Ismail Al-Jarmouzi, and the Director of the Directorate, Hamad bin Rakan, were briefed on the festival’s pavilions and the exhibits of the participating productive families.
The Acting Prime Minister praised the festival and its level of organization, extending an invitation to those working in the field of marketing to visit it, as it works to encourage productive families and contribute to the growth of community activities that adhere to quality specifications and standards.
He said, "It is good for everyone to encourage these products to grow and transform from household and family products into laboratories, factories, institutions and companies."
Mark Moftah considered this type of production a good opportunity to encourage the local producer on the path to self-sufficiency in this type of product instead of importing it from abroad.
In turn, Al-Madani stressed the importance of the festival in marketing and promoting local products and encouraging and supporting productive families, noting the high-quality local products contained in the festival’s pavilions.
He explained that the opening of this exhibition and other productive families exhibitions in the districts of the capital secretariat is a practical and real translation towards self-sufficiency in local production and national industries with high quality that competes with foreign products.
Al-Madani stressed that everyone must feel responsible in supporting and encouraging the local product, in a way that gives incentive to these productive families to expand their activity and productivity, pay attention to the quality of products, and develop economic empowerment projects.
For his part, the Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee - Deputy Head of the Development Team, Al-Naqib, indicated that the festival comes within the framework of supporting the economic empowerment of productive families and strengthening institutional partnership in implementing initiatives that have a development impact in the capital secretariat.
He stressed the role and importance of the Eid Joy Festival in supporting economic empowerment projects for productive families in the Bani Al-Harith District and marketing their products in a way that enhances local development. He praised the role of the Bani Al-Harith Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society in organizing the festival, which includes local products of various types of food, consumer goods and clothing.
While the Undersecretary of the Secretariat for Agricultural Affairs, Saree, called on the people of the Directorate and the Municipality of the Capital to actively participate in the success of this festival and to encourage the purchase of local products and encourage productive families in a way that contributes to creating a resistant social economy.
For his part, Director of the Directorate, Rakan, stressed the importance of the festival in marketing local products and providing citizens’ needs at competitive prices and high-quality national products, which contributes to achieving self-sufficiency.
He praised the efforts of the Bani Al-Harith Cooperative Society in holding this national festival in the district, and the support of the Capital Municipality and the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, to encourage local production and support productive families’ projects.
The head of the Bani Al-Harith Cooperative Society, Dr. Sadiq Al-Jadhami, explained that the festival lasts for 5 days with the participation of 70 productive families from the Bani Al-Harith District and contains food products, natural oils, honey, clothes, perfumes, handicrafts, leather goods, and household items.
He appreciated the support and interest of the leadership of the Municipality of the Capital, the local authority in the district, the financing unit, and the Small and Micro Enterprise Development Authority, for organizing and making this festival a success, which aims to support the economic empowerment of productive families and provide the needs of citizens at reduced prices in light of the aggression.
The opening was attended by a member of the local council in the capital secretariat, Mohsen Haroun, the directors of the General Corporation for Agricultural Services in the secretariat, Mutahar Al-Washli, and Al-Hadayek, Rami Al-Jundi, the deputy director of the project financing unit in the secretariat, Samir Hamza, the public mobilization official in the district, Muhammad Al-Ghorbani, the secretary-general of the Bani Al-Harith Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society, Muhammad Abu Talib, and local, executive, security, and mobilization leaders, sheikhs, elders, and social figures.
In addition, the Undersecretary of the Secretariat for Agricultural Affairs, Muhammad Saree, the Director of the Bani Al-Harith Directorate, Hamad bin Rakan, and the leadership of the Bani Al-Harith Association, honored two productive families with special needs participating in the festival, with a sum of money provided by the Finance Unit of the Secretariat.
